What is Yoni?
The type of Yoni in Yoni matching depicts our mental makeups in intimate relationships and sexual preference.
Yoni in a general sense means a sexual organ or generative organ. Yoni in its very literal translation means Vagina. Yoni is a Sanskrit word that means a womb. Yoni in the context of Yoni matching also means the kind of sexual organ. Some Yonis are naturally attracted towards each other, just like some individuals are more attracted to each other.
In astrology and Kundli matching, Yoni gives us an idea about our own sexual nature and also gives us an idea of the kind of people with whom we may enjoy satisfactory sex and a good relationship.
The type of Yoni you have depends on your Birth Nakshatra, also known as Janma Nakshatra.
Types of Yoni in sexual compatibility
There are 13 different types of Yoni in Vedic astrology which are useful for the assessment of sexual attraction and sexual repulsion. Yoni also represents, to some extent, the intimate comfort we might share with someone. The Yonis are classified as Animal type. For example, Sarpa Yoni or Serpent Yoni is one of the kind.
Such classification helps us to better understand the sexual traits of the Yoni. And this animal sign classification gives an added value when it comes to understanding the attraction and repulsion between two kinds of Yoni, which we will discuss below in the article. These 13 different types of Yoni are further classified by a gender-based division such as a Male yoni and a Female yoni.
How to find your Yoni?
As we know that the Yoni is derived from our Janma Nakshatra or Birth Nakshatra. So the knowledge of our birth Nakshatra will help us find our Yoni type. Yoni is a Nakshatra characteristic and does not depends on the Rashi (zodiac sign). Following is the table which gives information about Yoni type, the animal sign of Yoni and Male Yoni or Female Yoni as per Birth Nakshatra.

What is Yoni matching?
Yoni matching is the process of matching Nakshatra based Yoni of the Bride and Groom in the matchmaking procedure called Kundli matching. Yoni matching tells about the intimate compatibility of a couple. It also tells about the sexual bliss in a marriage.
What is Yoni Koota?
Yoni Koota (pronounced as Yoni-Koot) is one of the parameters in Kundli matching just like Bhakoot and Nadi Koota. It is part of a larger 8 parameter based Kundli matching method, Ashtakoot. The maximum points scored in Yoni Koota are based on how the compatibility analysis results for a bride and groom in Yoni matching. The maximum score for Yoni Koota is four points.
Yoni matching is a rather small parameter in the Kundali matching, if carried out by the Ashtakoot matching method, where it is allotted only 4 points out of a total of 36 points distributed among all the parameters. But these 4 points in Kundali matching and a good Yoni match have a lot of importance.
A good Yoni match along with good compatibility in Bhakoot matching, Gana matching or Nadi matching can add so much value to a relationship and marriage.
For example, a good Yoni match with a good Bhakoot match can bring a soul mate kind of friendship and love between a couple where they can feel for one other. This can make the chemistry between them bloom and blossom all the season.
A good Yoni match along with a good Nadi match can promise an enjoyable sex life with healthy progeny and a happy family after marriage.
And a good Yoni match along with a good Gana match can make a bride and groom a good team in life, love and marriage bond.
To understand what a good Yoni match is, we need to understand the inherent chemistry between different yonis. Some Yonis are very fruitful for a particular Yoni while some can be inimical or extremely repulsive. The Yonis which are repulsive are mostly known as the enemy yoni for one another.
To understand the Yoni matching we need to know about the types of matches between two Yoni.
There can be five kinds of Yoni match.
- Same Yoni
- Friendly Yoni
- Neutral Yoni
- Enemy Yoni and
- Highly inimical Yoni
The Highly inimical Yoni or the Bitter Enemy kind of relationship between two yonis are the one that can cause Yoni Dosha. But many of the time the Enemy yoni can do a similar kind of damage to a couple.
The system of understanding the relationships between two Yoni is further simplified by authors of this art and astrologers with the help of animal signs or animal names given to these yonis. For example just like a Cat and Dog are enemy towards each other. A cat yoni and a dog yoni are also enemy yonis for one another.
The general rule for Yoni matching is that the same yoni gets maximum points followed by friendly yoni, neutral yoni and enemy yoni. The highly inimical yonis get zero points in a yoni matching test.

Understanding Sexual compatibility and marriage with Yoni matching
Sexual compatibility and a Yoni match is a small factor when considered in the overall Kundali matching analysis of a Boy and a Girl.
It is important to understand that in kundli matching results it is natural that a couple will score well in some areas of matchmaking results while not score sufficiently in some other areas or Kootas. But relationships are not built in this way, just be relying on scoring a very high score. For example like over 30 points scored out of 36. Building a relationship is a task that requires the wholesome involvement of two people even at the understanding level.
The fact is you can build a very good relationship even with average points scored in Kundli matching and some time even the couple with a very high score is not satisfied with their marriage.
That being cleared. Let us understand how Yoni matching affects our relationship and marriage?
The same yoni or two friendly yonis can score 3 to 4 points in yoni matching. A combination of two same animal type yoni or a two friendly yoni is considered best for a good yoni match.
A good score in yoni matching can provide a good mutual sexual desire between a couple. This when provided with good compatibility, friendship and emotional understanding between the bride and groom can result in long-lasting happiness of married life.
Whenever in the results of yoni matching if the yoni of a boy and the yoni of a girl happens to be enemy yoni or an extreme enemy yoni for one other. This may create some repulsiveness in the intimate matter of the marriage. This is often called Yoni dosha by an astrologer.
What is Yoni Dosha in Kundli matching?
Whenever the yoni of the boy and girl are enemy yonis for each other, we can say that a Yoni dosha has occurred. In figures, Yoni Dosha exists when a couple scores 0 or 1 point in the yoni matching test. The yoni matching resulting in 0 point result is a strong Yoni dosha.
The end results for any kind of Yoni match depends on the other factors of the matchmaking process as well.
How important is Yoni compatibility in marriage and married life?
Just as different areas of matching has their role to play, so is the yoni compatibility. The most striking thing about good compatibility in a yoni matching is that it can bestow the spark in a relationship. This spark is what we would like to call the physical attractiveness for each other in the couple. This spark of a good yoni match if harvested with other things like mutual understanding, mutual care and a supportive friendship can make a great relationship.
On the counterpart, if there is a bad yoni match for a couple, no matter how great a relationship is established between them, the element of sexual bliss will be somewhat harmed.
The significance of the yoni matching other than sexual bond and intimate compatibility is that it is also going to tell you about the karmic fruits of the marriage.
As per the ancient Vedic standards for a good relationship, there should be balance and harmony in the marriage. So it is essential that a couple not only follows the kundli matching process but also understand its purpose. Which is know the good points and stronger areas of marriage and also respecting and understand the other weaker areas. For yoni matching it is wise for a couple to at least settle down with neutral yonis or with at least 2 points scored in a yoni match.
Thinking of the Karmic way it is believed that a good yoni match is a fruit of past karmas of the bride and the groom. Some Vedic astrologers are also of the opinion that a couple who puts in a lot of efforts in growing a relationship but still not able to get the respected results in a current lifetime are going to get a good fortune as blessings in Bhakoot matching, Nadi matching and Yoni matching in the next life.
