The most well known classic of Jyotisha, Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra, speaks about wealth in a chapter dedicated towards it, named as Special Dhana yogas (Special combinations for wealth).
Under this chapter, some verses goes on to describe extreme wealth as the result when such yogas gets formed in the birth chart. This yogas specially involves 5th and 11th houses and are formed over 5-11 axis of the chart. They are described as Yogas for Great Affluence.
The first seven verses of this chapter in Brihat Parasara Hora highlight the importance of 5-11 axis, with 5th and 11th houses getting connected and lord of these house in own sign (svakshetra).

verse 1.
“If there is the sign of Venus (Taurus and Libra) in the 5th house and it is occupied by Venus herself and there is Mars in the 11th house, the person will possess great riches.”verse 2.
“If Mercury is in the 5th house in one of his owns sign (Gemini and Virgo) and the Moon, Mars and Jupiter are in the 11th house, the person is extremely wealthy.”verse 3.
“If there is the sign of the Sun (Leo) in the 5th house and it is occupied by the Sun himself, and there are Saturn, the Moon and Jupiter in the 11th house, the person will be extremely wealthy.”verse 4.
“If there is the sign of Saturn (Capricorn and Aquarius) in the 5th house and Saturn is there in it and the luminaries (Sun and Moon) are in the 11th house, the person will be extremely wealthy.”verse 5.
“If in the 5th house there is the sign of Jupiter (Sagittarius or Pisces) and he is situated in it and there is Mercury in the 11th house, the person is extremely wealthy.”verse 6.
“If in the 5th house there is the sign of Mars (Aries or Scorpio) and Mars himself is situated there in and there is Venus in the 11th house, the combination will make the person extremely wealthy.”verse 7.
“If in the 5th house the Moon is in her own sign and Saturn occupies the 11th house, the person owns fabulous wealth.”

The most precious extracts form all the seven verses given above is, the 5th lord is placed in 5th house (the house of purva punya or past life deeds or deeds performed earlier) and the lord of 11th is placed in 11th house (the labha sthana or house of gains). These configurations of planets is recurring in all the seven verses. This is the ultimate juice of astrological insight, that when 5th lord is placed in 5th house and 11th lord is placed in 11th house, these configurations of planets can give rise to superior wealth giving potentials in someone fortune.

- The 5th house is one of the trine (trikone) house. Trine houses are know as Lakshmi sthanas, hence capable of giving wealth.
