Notes

There are good amount of yogas in classical texts that requires a well placed and strong Lagna lord. The placement of Lagna lord in an angle or a trine can be a very favourable condition in any birth chart.

The recurring demand of Lagna lord to be favourably placed in angle or trine, shades some light on how important it is for any horoscope to have a favourably placed Lagna to fully express other potentials in the chart. The bottom line is any planet placed in angle or trine houses can express itself in much better way compare to when placed in other houses. Lagna lord’s better expression boosts the other factors of horoscope as well.

And then the key component in the definition of this Yog which is, “exchange between 2nd lord and 9th lord”. This gives rise to a very powerful Dhana Yog effects, as 2nd lord of wealth is placed in 9th house of fortune and 9th lord is placed in 2nd house of wealth.

The 9th lord rules sacred knowledge and scripture, while one of the lesser know meanings of the 2nd house is oral transmission of sacred knowledge (since chanting for memorization and oral transmission of knowledge from one generation to other, were the only means of preserving the knowledge in early vedic periods in ancient India). So clearly during that time, the immersed study of sacred scriptures was indicated by this feature of chart.
