The Yog karaka in context of Parasari Raja yogas is planet in a chart, who simultaneously rules both an angle and a trine house. This planet is given a special recognition by sages as “Raja yoga Karaka” or “indicator of Raja yog”.
The verse from Brihat Parasara Hora which explains Yoga Karakas is as follows.
Classical verse translated
“If one and the same planet gets the lordship of a trine as well as an angle, and if this planet is in an angle or a trine, it will prove specially a yoga karaka (indicator of high status).”
The special indicators of Raja Yog (Yog Karakas planets) are available only for 6 out of 12 ascendents.
